Obituary of Emma Lou Denson
Emma Lou Denson, age 87, passed away in Bellingham, WA on June 6, 2017. Emma Lou was born to David and Esther (Whiteside) Blackburn in Santa Maria, CA on December 10, 1929. On October 26, 1946 she married Elmer Denson and together they raised 3 children. The family moved to Bellingham shortly after their second child was born. Emma Lou attended Bellingham Technical College where she completed her nurse's training in 1962. She thoroughly enjoyed her career as a nurse, working in the local hospitals. She particularly enjoyed her time working with Dr. Jack Brown in Lynden. In her free time Emma Lou could often be found working in her garden, crocheting, and sewing. Emma Lou is preceded in death by her husband Elmer, a brother, Harold at the young age 12, and her sisters Iona Neidenbach & Elaine Hern. Emma Lou is survived by her three children Carlotta (Dave) Haynes, Jean (Gus) Tarantino, and David (Stacy) Denson, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday June 13, 2:00 p.m. at Bayview Cemetery.
