I give God thanks for the life and witness, for the patience and insistence, for the joy and thought of Mrs. Dittmer. We knew she was 'Grace' to my Mom and Dad but, to us, she was always 'Mrs. Dittmer'. Nevertheless, 'Grace' was a name I knew fit her well. She was my teacher for many years. She was never easy on us but she was always grace-filled. We came to understand that grace is not easy even though it is ever present. Grace Dittmer was one of a handful of Moravian leaders who formed my gospel worldview and I will be forever grateful. She taught many of us for many years. I can only imagine the spirits she has touched with her grace. Grace led, alongside of her husband, at Waconia, and I would guess wherever they went. I rejoice and give thanks for the ministry they offered. I give thanks to the family for their tender care and loving spirit. May God's peace enfold you. I regret that we will be unable to be at the funeral. We will be celebrating the baptism of another Moravian clergy family. The legacy lives on.
