Geran S. Dalenius passed away in Bellingham, WA on July 14, 2018. He was born to Duluth and Bertha Dalenius on June 12,1929 in Bellingham and lived in the Bellingham-Ferndale area nearly all his life.
He travelled to Sweden as a child with his mother and sister, one of the many adventures of his lifetime. He met his wife Dolores in high school. They later wed on August 11, 1950 and were inseparable during the 67 years of their marriage.
He attended business school in Bellingham and was later employed at the Port of Bellingham, Anacortes Veneer, and the Intalco Aluminum Corporation in Ferndale where he served as traffic manager for over 20 years. His international business ties took him to France and Japan.
He had a passion for the natural world and reveled in exploring innumerable national and state parks, especially in the company of his children. He and his wife eventually travelled to several other countries and every state in the nation, as well as most of the Canadian provinces.
He was a loving father as well as an avid fisherman, golfer, gardener, and bridge player. He will be truly missed.
Survivors include his wife Dolores and children: Gary Dalenius, Karen Dalenius, Greg Dalenius (Ruth), Kristie Sholtis (Jim), and Kaye Dalenius-White; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at the Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale. Condolences may be sent to The Dalenius Family in care of Moles Farewell Tributes (5700 NW Dr. Ferndale WA 98248).
