Verna Helen (Jefferson) Linse, age 88, of Lummi, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019. Verna was born on May 25, 1930 in Bellingham, to Simon and Helen Jefferson. She was an independent strong loving elder at Little Bear Creek who like to take care of herself. She gave the biggest bear hugs and had a beautiful smile. Her sense of humor was one of a kind. She would leave you laughing and with memories that will last a lifetime. Verna loved thrift store shopping, walking to Fisherman's Cove daily to get groceries, visiting her children, going to Riteaid on Cornwall, playing practical jokes and watching Young and the Restless. Verna is survived by her daughter Linda (John) Robson; son Charles (Deborah)Boyer; granddaughter Angel Chance; great-granddaughter Ashley McLean; special friends Kim Hillaire and Loretta Olsen. She is preceded in death by her husband Al Linse; sisters Violet Jefferson, Vela Julius, Velma James and half brother Bill Toby. A prayer service will be held Monday, April 15, at 6:00pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 16, at 10:00am. Both services will be held at Greenacres, 5700 Northwest Drive, Ferndale. Burial will follow at Lummi Nation Cemetery.
