Obituary of Richard Robbins
Rich, 71, has moved up to Glory Land after a two-year battle with Sarcoma Cancer. Rich was born October 17, 1946 to Leona and Duane Robbins in Concord, Michigan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his infant sister Beverly.
Survivors include his lovely wife of 50 years, Cindi Stull Robbins of the family home in Ferndale. Son Chris (Lisa) Robbins, granddaughter Katie, grandson Mathew of Bellingham. Daughter Victoria “Vicki” Garrison, granddaughter Hayley Garrison, great-granddaughter Braelynn Marshall, granddaughter Justine Garrison, all of Ferndale. Sister, Shirley (Tom) Regnier of Custer, brother-in-law Bob (Linda) Stull of Blaine and sister-in-law Carole Hansen of Bellingham. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rich moved west to Ferndale, WA with his parents in 1953. He grew up on the family farm by the Nooksack River and attended Central Elementary, Alexandra Junior High, and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1964. Rich attended Evergreen Community Church and worked on the family farm. He was involved with Boy Scouts and FFA while growing up. Rich met Cindi through her cousin in 1966 and on April 8, 1967 they were married.
Rich worked for Imhoff’s Feed from 1966 until October 1969, when he went to work for Intalco. He was always a hard worker. On his days off he enjoyed maintaining his garden of flowers and vegetables.
Rich’s favorite holiday was the Christmas season. He loved to decorate the yard and house and keep them up well past January. He loved spending time with family and taking trips with Cindi to the Oregon Coast. His passion was collecting unusual Nutcrackers. He will be greatly missed, we love you dad.
Thank you to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and UW for caring for Rich during his fight with Cancer. Thank you to the 2nd floor staff at North Cascade for your care and compassion of Rich and family for the last three months. Also, thank you to the staff on the 4th and 3rd floor of St. Joseph main tower for your dedication to the care of Rich and gratitude and kindness to his family in his final days.
Please join the family in celebrating Rich’s life on November 15, 2017. Visitation at 1:00pm, graveside service at 2:00pm, and memorial service at 2:30pm. All will be held at Moles Farewell Tributes-Greenacres.
