Obituary of Betty Jo Curtis
Betty Jo Curtis, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2018. Betty was known for her servant’s heart, unconditional love, and her strong faith.
Born on May 26, 1926 to Dean and Hattie McCorcle in Lawn, TX, she was one of ten. The family moved to Colorado City, TX where she grew up and graduated high school. On May 23, 1943, she married M. James Curtis and together they had four children. James predeceased her in October, 2009, having celebrated 66 years of marriage.
She is survived by her sister Deanie, four children and their spouses; James, Jerry, Darryl, and Diane. Other survivors include her 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Betty was a member of Life Church Bayside. She and James served 17 years as missionaries to the Philippines. Betty had a great love for her God, her family, and all people she met. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will take place on Wed. March 28 from 12-2:00pm followed by a graveside service at 2:00PM at Greenacres Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 3:00PM at Whatcom New Life Assembly (2290 Main St. Ferndale).
