First and foremost, Jennifer and I would like to give Toms entire family our deepest, sincere condolences and we are very saddened of the loss of a good Man and business friend.
Tom ran a business in Bellingham that my wife and I work with on a daily business. He always made my day when I went in there and he was working the office. There were always laughs going on as that was something that made Tom who he was. A Man with a great sense of humor, loved to make people laugh and always made you feel comfortable in the conversation that was taking place. If you were there, in his presence, you were part of the entertainment. I actually looked forward to going into the business, for my work, just because I could spend a little time with him. I really wish I would have been afforded some more of those days. It's very hard losing people that make a positive impact in your life.
Tom, I will always miss the opportunity to spend time with you, but would like to Thank-you for everything you did for Jennifer and I. Thanks for caring about us, and thanks for taking good care of Jennifer with her business.
Casey, Michelle, and Stacey... thanks for sharing such a great Man with my family, we will be forever greatful. Our Prayers are with all of you at this time.
Although Tom is technically my “second uncle” he was always “Uncle Tom” to me. Growing up so close to his kids ( my cousins) I was always in awe of the Dad he was to his kids. He got on their level, played the silly games they wanted to play, listened to their never ending stories, made everyone in the room laugh with his endless jokes and quick witted sarcasm. I can remember many times making up dance routines with my cousins and Tom would be our audience, he never complained, he always smiled and told us we were amazing ( to be clear, we were NOT Amazing)
One year his kids spent Easter at my house and he realized the Easter Bunny would deliver baskets to my house and in the morning his kids would be disappointed...so late at night he ran to the store and stuffed baskets and brought them in the middle of the night while we all slept! His kids were ecstatic to know the Easter bunny didn’t forget them! These are just a few of the little things he would do to make sure his kids and his nieces and nephews had a great childhood.
He used to work for schwans for a while, he was literally our personal ice cream man! Endless ice cream for us when he came home from work!
Or the time he sold POGS! Oh man we were the coolest kids in school (to be clear, we were NOT cool) we always had a stack of brand new pogs hot off the shelf!
I can’t imagine the pain of losing my Dad and so my heart breaks for all of you! Stacey, Melissa and Casey we had a great childhood and your Dad is one of the reasons why! May he live on forever in our hearts and in our memories! Until we meet again, I Love you Uncle Tom!
