Howard was so very special to us! We always looked forward to seeing him at our store Mckay's Variety! Howard, I wish we had more time together to hear your stories and jokes!!! I will always cherish the stories you were able to share with us and I'm so happy you are able to finally see Gertie! Howard was such a light in our life and truly made us happy every time we saw him! We love you and miss you dearly! We are thinking of you often and I imagine you are looking down on us cracking jokes at our expense!!
I will never forget a story Howard once told me, about how he went to Elementary school in Bellingham, and in the first grade he thought his teacher was mean and hated going to her class. One day he was walking to school and passed a boy walking the other direction, he asked where he was going and the boy said "to first grade at Franklin elementary" and Howard then asked if the teacher at Franklin was very nice. The boy responded she was! So Howard started to walk all the way across town each day to attend Franklin, he found that he liked the teacher much better and his mother did not find out he was attending a different school until she received his report card!
Im so grateful for the time we had, and your stories will always be told to my children Howard!
Dear Family, I was the receptionist at Howard’s dental office for about 18 years. He was such a wonderful , sweet man. We shared many stories and he always was a heartfelt gentle soul. I’m sorry for your loss.
Dear children and grandchildren of Howard Moena,
My late husband, Jim Fetridge, was in the room next to Gertie at CHCC for about a year before her death. During that time, I was able to observe Howard...this gentle, kind man who always had a kind word for the nurses and was patient, always respecting their workloads and responsibilities. His love for Gertie was inspirational.
I was deeply saddened to read of his death. Please accept my deepest condolences.
No one has nibbled my ear with a hug for the weeks and months since I saw you last...Have lots of fond memories and enjoyed all the conversations we had every morning at Our Diner...You are and have been missed...There will never be another one like you Howard....Love you as much as ever! RIP...your friend, Bev

So sorry for your loss, Howard was a good friend and neighbor for over 20 years. He is greatly missed on Neptune Circle, and I will always remember him and Gerte. I'm sorry I won't be able to make it to his service, because I am out of town. God Bless!
We will miss your visits to the cemetery and I will miss our conversations in the office Howard. We sure had some great talks. I’m so happy that you are with Gert now. I know how much you missed her.
