To say Al was unique is an understatement. A man with the right amount of heart, knowledge, grace, and dedication. I never got the chance to work with Al but that didn't stop him from greeting me with wise crack and then a smile. Always, asking if I was up to no good or if I was ever working hard. I remember the first time I got the chance to talk grocery with Al. I quickly realized that he has forgotten more than I have learned. He was always giving in his knowledge about the business and honest in his thoughts. Al has had tremendous influence on his two sons who have followed in his footsteps with Grocery and I've had the honor of working with them both. My thoughts go out to the family and friends who know him most. Al will forever stay alive in my thoughts and in my heart.
